Blossom Dearie (1924-2009) was known for her unpretentious vocal delivery and sophisticated piano accompaniment. Her music was ethereal, understated, impressive and bold. She performed lesser known gems of the Great American Songbook, was one of the voices of the Grammy nominated “Schoolhouse Rock” album, and went on to write and record original material with Johnny Mercer, Michel Legrand and Sting. Sharon and Joe honor the unique voice, extraordinary accompaniment and remarkable repertoire and career of this beloved jazz icon.
“This album is one for the ages – not only as a Blossom Dearie tribute but as an album by a truly miraculous vocal artist, made of glorious warmth and intimacy.” - Raul Da Gama
“The title track is a mesmerizing jazz ballad that embodies a sensual combination of shyness, innocence and romance… a strong and entertaining ode to Dearie’s enduring influence on jazz”
— New York City Jazz Record
“simply mesmerizingly quaint, and wholly ambient new album ” - Russel Trunk
